The Lifeway Center is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 ministry and community organization. Recently, the Lifeway Center was given the G&W grocery store building to do ministry from. We are currently in a construction and fundraising period to complete this project. So far, we have installed 200 feet of drain tile around the inside perimeter of the foundation, to successfully deal with the problem of ground water coming inside the building. We completed initial repairs to the roof, only to have the work dismantled by the ice storms of Dec 06 to Feb 07. This brought a halt to interior work, and we spent an unexpected $18,000.00 to permanently repair the roof (15-yr warranty) to stop water coming in from above. We have also dismantled and removed several tons of unusable equipment, and continue to take out old walls and material from the inside, while simultaneously sprucing up the outside. If your business, synagogue, church, or self would like to donate to this worthy goal, contact us to find out how best to do that. So far we have people, churches, and businesses donating time, talent, and money to refurbish this facility, and are in need of more of each. The new facility will house Shepherd’s Nook food pantry (see link below, then click on “external ministries”), and other areas of ministry targeted towards children, young people, and young adults.
